In Bolzano, the vibrant provincial capital of South Tyrol, where Central European and Mediterranean culture merge, there is plenty to discover: the picturesque old town, good for shopping and strolling, the hustle and bustle under the famous Bozner Lauben and on the fruit market, cultural events, museums and castles. If you want to go hiking, you will reach the wonderful high altitude plains of Ritten and Kohlern and the traditional Sarn valley, where people still practice ancient customs. South of Bolzano, you can find the South Tyrolean wine route, with a landscape characterised by many castles, manor houses and lake Kalterer, the warmest lake in the Alps. The 15 picturesque villages, offering delicious wines as well as plenty of cultural and natural treasures, can be explored via a network of cycle routes and signposted hiking routes.

Nordic Walking with the Nordic Walking school Ritten, on the Bolzano Talfer meadows, along the South Tyrolean wine route and the surrounding hiking regions. Climbing in Montiggl, Tramin, along the Fennberger fixed rope route , in the climbing halls around Bolzano and in the HETZ high wire garden in Terlan. Swimming in lake Kalterer, the two lakes of Montiggler and in the many outdoor pools. Surfing & sailing on lake Kalterer. Riding in the Neumarkt riding centre, in Jenesien, Ritten and in the Sarn valley. Golf at the gold course of Petersberg. Paragliding on the southern side of lake Kalterer.
