Val Venosta

The sunny holiday region for your bed & breakfast and apartment holiday in South Tyrol

The Vinschgau region reaches from the Reschen pass to Naturns in between three thousand metre summits and apple orchards. A valley of contrasts that discloses one of its treasures as soon as you pass the Reschen pass: the forlorn steeple of the former village of Graun, which sank in the floods of 1949 during the construction of the Reschen dam, looms out of the lake and is one of South Tyrol’s most photographed images. This is also where the alpine South Tyrolean fairy tale starts, because no other than ”King Ortler”, at 3.905 m, the highest mountain of South Tyrol, can be fond in this wonderful valley. Together with the Ortler-Cevedale group and the Ötztaler Alps, it keeps away the clouds for more than 300 days of sunshine per year.
This is a very special feature that makes the Vinschgau region ideal for walking and skiing holidays. Further towards Merano, the landscape is wonderfully mellow, with lush fruit orchards and vineyards taking turns with proud castles, culture, art and enjoyment. In the Vinschgau region you have the opportunity to explore the area using the Vinschger railway or by bike along the 150 km cycle tracks, promising unforgettable days in unique countryside for families as well as individuals.
