About me
Hi, my name is Sabine and I’ve been working as a Marketing and Social Media Manager at Südtirol Privat for some four years now. If my colleagues were to describe me, they’d probably tell you that I’m an open-minded, cheerful and adventurous girl – and an absolute fan of South Tyrol! And YES, I am! I love being out and about, zooming down the pistes or roaming through the great outdoors, and the camera is my most faithful companion. Sharing my best experiences and most wonderful impressions with you is something I truly enjoy: read all about my adventures in South Tyrol in the "Sabine on tour" section! What I like most about our lovely little country? The fantastic sunrises and sunsets in the mountains, of course. What about you? Come along and join me on my tour through the beautiful landscapes of South Tyrol!

A sweet classic

Another cookery video from our private landlord at the Haus Hilde! Marlene reveals to Sabine – and to you! – her very own secret apple cake recipe!

South Tyrolean apple cake

Are you expecting visitors at short notice? A quick apple cake always makes a good impression! It is one of the classic South Tyrolean pastry dishes and is a treat for young and old alike! :-) Marlene Höllrigl from the Haus Hilde has delighted many a guest with her apple cake, so I am all the more delighted that she has decided to reveal her recipe to me. Thank you again, Marlene and Werner, for your wonderful recipe video! :-)

Recipe for Marlene’s apple cake

Ingredients:
125 g softened butter or margarine
125 g sugar
1 sachet vanilla sugar
3 eggs
½ sachet baking powder
a little lemon zest
250 g flour
800 g apples (any variety)
icing sugar

Preparation:
Mix the softened butter with the sugar, vanilla sugar and eggs until creamy. Add the sifted flour, baking powder and lemon zest and stir further. Peel the apples, cut them into cubes and add to the dough. Mix it all together, place in a springform tin and bake for 50 to 55 minutes at 180 degrees. Sprinkle with icing sugar – and the apple cake is ready!
Pretty simple, right? :-) Just try out the recipe and enjoy your apple cake – preferably while still hot – with a dash of whipped cream!

Yours from the heart, Sabine!
