Flower fragrance and tailwind
The apple blossom in Val Venosta/Vinschgau valley is also a wonderful sight to behold on two wheels. The
Adige/Etsch cycle path, which largely follows the historic Via Claudia Augusta, is one of South Tyrol’s most beautiful spring tours. The route stretches for around 80 kilometres from the mountains by Lake Resia/Reschensee to the Mediterranean landscape around Merano – past colourful orchards, small biotopes, charming villages, and always alongside the Adige/Etsch river. Things get a bit more challenging on the
varied mountain bike trails around Latsch, Schlanders, and Naturns, where impressive panoramic views await amidst Alpine pastures, forests, and apple orchards. The cycle route near Lagund offers a delightful alternative: from here, the roughly 20-kilometre route leads leisurely via Rabland and Partschins, partly along the Adige/Etsch Cycle Path and partly on idyllic irrigation channels, back to the starting point. Passing impressive mountain panoramas and blossoming apple orchards, this spring ride is all about nature, indulgence, and exercise.
